Lionsgate seem to be on a lookout for a developer who are eager to make a John Wick game

Entertainment company Lionsgate are exploring the possibility of a AAA John Wick game, according to CEO Jon Feltheimer.

Filmmaker Lionsgate are "fielding proposals" for a big video game based on the popular action movies John Wick, starring Keanu Reeves . According to the CEO Jon Feltheimer Lionsgate belive a big game can be made out of John Wick.

"I don’t want to get ahead of myself here, but we believe there is a big AAA game to be made out of John Wick. We have been fielding proposals. We certainly are interested in moving that forward, but I don’t want to say anything more about that at this time," he said during an earnings call as reported by Indiewire .

Lionsgate's AAA John Wick game would not be the first John Wick game on the market given that we already got the action strategy title John Wick Hex , from Bithell Games. However, it would be the first AAA title given that the already mentioned Hex was a smaller release.

At the moment, it does seem like Lionsgate are looking for a potential publisher and developer who would be interested in such a project. If we had to guess, we would say that EA are probably in the mix, given that they are not shying away from working on someone else's IP lately.

As for the actual game and what to expect, well, it's going to be a shooter , if that's not quite obvious by now. Whether it's a first-person or third-person shooter, it remains to be seen, but if Keanu ends up being the main protagonist, we would put a bet on the game being a third-person shooter because, you have to see the guy, right?

Games that have a similar tone to John Wick include Max Payne and Quantum Break and we also have older titles like Wet and Stranglehold. So that's probably what you can expect from a new game.

All in all, it's good news for all John Wick fans that a big AAA title could become reality but it's going to take a while before we hear about it and even longer than that before we get to see it and play it. Big games take around 4-6 years to develop so don't expect this John Wick game before 2027.
