As rumours suggested earlier this month, Linkin Park will perform the anthem for League of Legends Worlds 2024. The band officially announced the song last night with a short teaser that gives us a glimpse of what to expect from this year's anthem.
The song has that Linkin Park signature sound - It's fast with a guitar riff similar to those of the band's previous hits like What I've Done and New Divide. The song is set to air tomorrow - September 24, 2024, at 04:55 PM CET / 8:00 AM PDT.
The song Heavy is the Crown will be accompanied by an official video, which is also teased in Linkin Park's announcement on Twitter. It seems that the video is done in an animated fashion, showing the members of the band Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong as characters from League of Legends. Pretty awesome.
The reactions to the news are, as expected, very positive. Many League of Legends fans cannot wait to hear the new League of Legends song but at the same time, are even more excited with the fact that it's their childhood band Linkin Park performing it.
In case you're not familiar with the Worlds 2024 event, it's the culmination of the League of Legends esports season and the game's biggest event of the year. This year's tournament will be held in Europe while the finals will take place in London, United Kingdom. The tournament will run from September 25 to 29, 2024.
