Nintendo announced the target release window for Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, showed a little bit of gameplay and revealed new mechanics.
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is currently targeting 2022 as the release window, according to the Nintendo Direct from E3 2021. The devs couldn't be more specific which is quite understandable since the development is probably still far from over and there is the matter of the Covid-19 pandemic that is slowing everything down.
Anyway, BotW 2 will soar in with new mechanics, which is probably the biggest revelation on this Nintendo Direct, besides the actual release date. Players will get to adventure above ground in this instalment as Nintendo announced skies above Hyrule will become playable.
The shown trailer also points to different means of navigating the skies, with Link free falling in one clip while he's using a glider in another one. It remains to be seen if these will just be additional methods of transportation or if Link will gain some in-air combat abilities, magic or gadgets.
All of that is bound to be shown and explained in the coming months as we are going further into the second half of 2021. Now only the wait for the next Direct remains as the fans will undoubtedly hope for more information on their favourite upcoming game.
