League of Legends Patch 26.4 looks to be rolling out as a fairly conservative yet crucial balance patch as Riot continues to iron out wrinkles in the early 2026 meta.
Instead of being heavily focused on sweeping changes, this patch looks to simply iron out some outliers. As we get closer to more ranked seasons and major events, Riot seems eager to make sure gameplay is as stable as possible while patching up areas of complaint from players in all roles.
Early analytics and player interviews have seemingly made their voices heard. Riot’s website shows the 26.4 patch will arrive worldwide on February 19, with patch notes to be posted likely sometime ahead of release.
Overall Direction of Patch 26.4
The first thing Riot has observed is that there has been a definitive decrease in game length. This has mostly been attributed to the earlier turret plate changes. Some of the jungle vision, Faelights, and early bounty changes have yet to kick in.
Feedback gathered from players early on has shown:
- Top/Bot lane feel better about the state of the game
- Jungle/Mid/Support either feel the same or have a lower opinion
Riot hope to close that gap with some tuning instead of heavy-handed changes.
Champion Buffs, Nerfs, and Adjustments
Patch 26.4 sees buffs spread across a large variety of champions. Several undertuned or ignored champions are getting some love:
- Annie
- Camille
- Darius (Jungle)
- Graves
- Hwei
- Lux
- Samira
- Udyr
- Xayah
On the other end, a number of strong or overperforming champions are being toned down, such as:
- Aphelios
- Gwen
- Jinx
- Kassadin
- Qiyana
- Syndra
- Twitch
- Zac
Ryze and Senna are getting more targeted adjustments rather than number tweaks. Unpopular jungle champions are getting a slight buff as well, and Riot is giving some champions that were just hotfixed time to find their footing(Mel, Zed).
System and Ranked Changes
Systems
Hexoptics will be toned down so its damage boosting passive isn't so restrictive to which champions can reliably use it.
Ranked
Riot is partially reverting some recent changes to Challenger ranked queue. Match quality got better on paper, but queue times skyrocketed and were unpopular, so they’re rethinking how to balance those two factors.
