The bounty system is a snowballer's worst enemy and the most hated foe of all scaling champions all at once. And yet Riot are intent on making it work.

Objective Bounties in League of Legends is a mechanic that activates when a team is sufficiently behind in gold, levels, and taking neutral objectives such as drakes. They are highlighted on the minimap for both teams.

If a losing team takes an objective with an active bounty, every member of the team receives the objective bounty gold, split amongst the team. The same goes for champion bounties, as well, which is an older mechanic in the game.

Riot Games have received multiple complaints about the new bounty system, and players haven't stopped sending them. Now, in patch 12.13 hey seem to be poking the hornet's nest once again:

  • Bounty lingering duration: 5 ⇒ 60 seconds
  • Bounties will now start to fall off a little earlier when the losing team reduces the lead
  • Claiming an objective bounty as bounties are lingering now cancels all other objective bounties on the map, until bounties are reactivated due to a large lead
  • Champions with gold accumulating passives such as Draven or Gangplank and runes like Treasure Hunter no longer count towards your team’s total gold when calculating bounties
  • The way dragons and towers are weighted when calculated for bounties has been updated to be more in line with player expectations

Just the fact that gold hoarding bounties no longer count toward the team's overall gold, which is the thing that makes bounties appear in the first place, shows us an unbalanced future in store for the LoL meta.

The rest of the champion buffs in this patch don't matter, here is where the actual win rate-changing buffs are, and we already know which champions are getting abused until Riot decide to revert these changes.
