Nantic have put Latias as a Raid Week featured Pokemon recently which sparked the players' interest in obtaining a Shiny Latios as they didn't have the opportunity to do so earlier. It seems like Niantic decided to fulfil the community's wishes and make another raid event just for Latios.
It will kick off on Monday, 15 April 2019 and will run through next Monday. The starting time will be 13:00 PDT / 20:00 GMT on 15th and the event will conclude at the same time on 22nd.
which will give the players an opportunity to catch it, albeit with a bit effort, just like with any other Raid Boss. Those with extreme luck might even encounter a Shiny Latios and actually capture this beast.
Those who don't manage to get their hands on Latios or the Shiny version might get a bit of a consolation award through the that will start just one day later, on Tuesday, 16 April 2019. The event will start at 13:00 PDT / 20:00 GMT and will end on 23 April 2019.
Pichu, Smoochum and Magby will be in the two-kilometre eggs and if your luck didn't help you with getting a Shiny Latios, you might want to try getting a Shiny Buneary in the Eggstravaganza.
Even if that doesn't work, this Pokemon is here to stay so it will be permanently added after the event.
Eggstravaganza will combine well with whatever Pokemon you manage to catch as it will feature double Hatch Candy and Incubator effectiveness while Lucky Eggs will last twice as long. This should ensure a decent Pokemon catching-and-growing season.
