Bandai Namco have officially announced that Jiren and Videl will join Dragon Ball FighterZ on 31 January 2019 as part of the second season pass. There will be six characters in total, but Bandai Namco simply said they are coming soon.

Bandai Namco technically announced Videl and Jiren sooner, as the video was leaked prior to the scheduled time, but they have now officially confirmed the leak wasn't a hoax. Dragon Ball fans will immediately recognize both characters as one is the most powerful opponent Goku faced so far, while the other is Gohan girlfriend and later wife.

Jiren was featured heavily through the Tournament of Power saga and was easily the most powerful fighter in the tournament. He was shown as seemingly invincible due to his power overshadowing that of his opponents, but that is all we can say without spoiling it for any fans who may have not watched these episodes yet.

As per usual, it will be hilarious to see Yamcha beating up superior opponents in-game and this one is no exception. While Yamcha beating up Frieza, Beerus or Jiren canonically sounds almost as ridiculous as Krillin's wish to survive an encounter, it is Gohan that will take the throne of ridiculousness this time around.

This is due to the introduction of Videl, who is shown in the trailer as being able to partially hold her own, but it is implied she will heavily rely on Great Saiyaman. Now if one player were to pick Gohan, and the other were to pick Videl, the former would inevitably clash with his own alter ego. You can preview the moves of both Jiren and Videl on the video embedded above.

As we mentioned before, there are six characters that will come with the new pass, of which only two are still unknown. This is due to Bandai Namco also revealing Broly and SSGSS Gogeta as future additions, but their release dates are still unknown.
