Bungie is introducing a monetised event card for this round of Solstice of Heroes in Destiny 2 while keeping the regular unpaid one as well, so here is a rundown on how it will all work.
Solstice of Heroes is returning to Destiny 2 on July 19, 2022, and will stay for three weeks. During those three weeks, players will be able to farm up the new Solstice armour sets and upgrade them, as per usual, but also reroll their stats.
Meanwhile, in the cosmetics department, players can obtain some cosmetics through gameplay, via the regular event card, while others will be gained with the premium event card which will set you back $10.
Players can check their event card progress through the quest log or by interacting with Eva Levante. There, the players can see which challenges and objectives they need to complete to grab the rewards and event tickets used to purchase cosmetics. Once a player buys the event card, additional cosmetics will become available for purchase through tickets.
They will also have to spend their tickets before Solstice of Heroes ends on August 9, 2022, at which point they will disappear. As such, the tickets cannot be carried over to the next event so if you have an excess of them, just buy whatever is available even if you are not directly interested in that particular cosmetic. Any loot is better than no loot, after all.
Keep in mind that Solstice ornaments will be obtainable with Bright Dust so you might want to hold off on spending it for the time being.
