IO Interactive say that players who own the Steam version of the game will be able to upgrade to Hitman 3 Deluxe Edition for free.
"Our HITMAN 3 launch on Steam didn’t go as planned. We were excited to bring HITMAN 3 to Steam with new content and we knew that anticipation and excitement levels amongst our Steam players was high, especially as the game had been an Epic exclusive for a year," IOI wrote in the blog post.
That's why the developers confirmed that all Hitman 3 Standard Edition owners will get a free upgrade to the Hitman 3 Deluxe Edition. Additionally, all Hitman 3 Deluxe Edition or Hitman Trilogy owners will get a free upgrade to the Seven Deadly Sins Collection.
Players will be able to get their upgrades starting today, January 27, 2022. This process will begin to automatically roll out via Steam entitlements.
You simply need to launch your Steam copy of Hitman 3 and the new content from your free upgrade will be waiting for you to play.

Hitman 3 has been caught in quite the controversy lately, which resulted in a review bombing of the game on Steam. Players were unhappy with the game's regional pricing and the full price, which is odd for a game that was released a year ago.
Luckily, IO Interactive listened and fixed at least some of the concerns with today's announcement.
