Naughty Dog have confirmed that their upcoming action-adventure The Last of Us Part 2 will be the biggest and most ambitious game in the history of the company, suggesting that the game's length could be around 20 hours.
Earlier this week, we finally got the official release date for Naughty Dog's upcoming action-adventure The Last of Us Part II. Naughty Dog hosted a press event to reveal the big news and also talk more about the game which is set to launch next year.
One of the new details that were mentioned is the length and size of the new game. According to Creative Director Neil Druckmann, The Last of Us Part II is the most ambitious and longest game in the rich history of Naughty Dog.
This was probably what the majority of players already expected from the sequel since the studios such as Naughty Dog always try to push boundaries with each title and create bigger games and stories. Still, it's nice to see that players will get to spend dozens of hours wandering the post-apocalyptic world of The Last of Us Part II.
"What we realized pretty early on is that we were putting together Naughty Dog’s most ambitious and longest game in our 35-year history. To tell this kind of story the game needed to be massive," Creative Director Neil Druckmann wrote in a post on PlayStation Blog.
Naughty Dog's biggest title to this date is Uncharted 4, which requires around 15-hours to complete the main story. To complete the campaign and some extra stuff you would need to invest around 17 to 19 hours while completionists would spend around 28-30 hours with the blockbuster action-adventure.
Since The Last of Us Part II is the biggest game from Naughty Dog's portfolio, you can expect to spend a lot more hours to complete all these mentioned challenges.
The Last of Us Part II is hitting the shelves on 21 February 2020 for PlayStation 4. Along with the Standard Edition, the game is available in three other versions: the pricey Ellie Edition which costs $230, the Collector’s Edition for $170 and a Special Edition which is $80.
