GSC Game World have finally shed more light on their upcoming shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2. Today, we have a first screenshot from the game and some additional details about the development. More about the game is expected later this year.
It has been thirteen years since the release of the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R game - S.T.A.L.K.E.R : Shadow of Chernobyl. To celebrate the anniversary, the developers GSC Game World have shared the first screenshot from long-awaited S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 along with some additional details about the game's development.
As you can see from the screenshot, S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 looks as atmospheric and dark as always and we cannot wait to get more screenshot and first gameplay footage. S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2. The developers wrote in their message that more details about the game will be coming this year but sadly that everything that they decided to share. Here is their message in full:
"Thirteen years ago we released S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl. The world was never the same after that. Millions of players rushed into the Zone. Driven by the desire to uncover mysteries, you overcame difficulties, hunted for treasures, fought monsters and joined factions. You changed to become the real Stalkers.
You made this day forever special. Being inspired by everything you do (including arts, stories, cosplays and mods) we fully understand we can't let you down. The second chapter of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R saga will be our most ambitious game so far. It will live to the legendary legacy.
A lot of you are joining social isolation now. That's why today, on a very special occasion, we are ready to slightly uncover the mystery of what we are working on. This is the first glimpse of S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2.
Consider it as our humble present, with more to come in 2020."
As you can see, the developers are not quite ready to talk about S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 just yet but more info should arrive this year. We hope for a full gameplay showcase and possibly a release date set for early 2021, which may be a bit too optimistic but who knows, GSC Game World could surprise us just like they did today.
