A new Battlefield Report has just been released for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 and it gives players their closest look at multiplayer yet. Taking part in the newest developer deep dive are the Blood Ravens Space Marines and the Orks, giving us an excellent look at two factions who could not fight any differently.
Hosted by Creative Director Jan Theysen and Senior Game Designer Elliott Verbiest, the multiplayer gameplay included shows players the basis of multiplayer battles: fighting to control Energy Zones. The pair of factions go about doing so in different ways though, as they fight over the same areas from opposite sides.
The Blood Ravens are fully decked out with some of the latest technology going, complete with heavy guns to match. This comes at a cost of higher energy usage but what they may lack in squad size, they make up for with brute force.
Capable of mowing through enemies with specialised units, the Blood Ravens excel thanks to their arsenal. In contrast to the high-tech Space Marines, the Orks play an entirely different game. Capable of throwing large numbers of units at a single objective, Ork clans don’t worry about small squads so much as simply overrunning their foes.
Amassing a large force with upgrades will be key should you want to take the fight to your enemy. No matter the faction players pick in Dawn of War 4‘s multiplayer, they’ll have to play to each army’s strengths when battling to control points of interest.
Whether that’s raging in with countless numbers of foes or picking your enemies apart with smartly chosen units, Energy Zones will have to be contested.
Along with a look at the two factions’ gameplay, the new Battlefield Report shines a light on just how big engagements will look in Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4. It’s another glimpse at what fans can expect from multiplayer following last week’s story-focused update.Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 will release on 17 September 2026.
