343 Industries have released another Inside Infinite blog post and this time, the team talked mostly about audio in Halo Infinite but also revealed a brand new Banished weapon called Skewer.
Halo Infinite is set to be one of the biggest games of 2021 (hopefully not 2022) despite the controversy after the gameplay showcase last year. 343 Industries have been working hard to deliver a stunning-looking game after the criticism from players and in their recent Inside Infinite, the team shared new in-game screenshots to show the progress they've made during the last several months.
In yesterday's Inside Infinite, the team decided to focus on the audio side of Halo Infinite and a couple of other things such as a brand new Banished weapon named Skewer and its sound design. Check it out below:
"For Banished weapons, we established some core principles to how they should sound. When thinking of Banished the first thing that comes to mind is Brute, the word “brute” is savage and violent, so it only makes sense that is conveyed in the audio with making it sound powerful, animalistic and visceral," the team explained.
"The Banished weaponry has a more primitive feel than some of the other factions so this calls for having a strong sense of organic matter in the content, this helps give a strong grounding and sell the mechanical nature of them."
Halo Infinite is currently in development for PC, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. The game is scheduled to launch later this year.
