Just like in the original, players will have a wide variety of tools and gadgets at their disposal to fight giant machines and rebels.
Guerrilla Games say that one of their main goals for the highly-anticipated sequel was to evolve combat in various ways to offer more gameplay depth and give players more options to take down the robots and other enemy types that will roam the stunning world Guerrilla created.
"Our changes to combat design stayed true to Aloy’s identity. First, we wanted to add additional depth to the gameplay and increase the skill cap for players, through skills like melee combos and Valor Surges,"
say Guerrilla in the latest blog post.
Returning from the first game, there are weapon upgrades and outfits that can be enhanced at a workbench. Guerrilla Games also said they wanted to design more challenging enemy types that would encourage players to use most of their skills and abilities, not just a couple of them.
In addition to the epic machines, Aloy will also combat various human enemies that will have their own traits and weaknesses. On top of this, each faction will have different types of warriors from those who are easier targets, all the way up to Champions, which will be much harder to take down.
The new post explains combat, weapons, factions and machines in detail and we suggest you definitely check it out if Horizon Forbidden West is one of your most anticipated games of 2022.
