With the new Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4, Epic Games is finally collaborating with Disney. With Disney's major stake in Epic Games, Fortnite is planning to introduce a full Marvel themed map, items and battle pass with the new update.
Just before the update drops, Epic Games has announced that the game will go through a scheduled downtime. Here's a look at the downtime schedule for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4.
Fortnite: Chapter 5 Season 4 downtime
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 will end on August 15, 2024 around 11 AM ET. The downtime countdown has already begun in-game at the Brutal Beachhead POI of the current map.
While Epic Games has announced that the Fortnite downtime will last for 4 hours until the release of Chapter 5 Season 4, the Season 3 downtime lasted for more than 10 hours.
The downtime extension is necessary to ensure that the game will not face any bugs, errors or unexpected crashes. Moreover, the downtime is crucial for ensuring the map transitions occur smoothly which includes the placement of the new POIs.
The new season will introduce all new Marvel characters, items and map changes moving away from Chapter 5 Season 3's post-apocalyptic theme. The theme of Chapter 5 Season 4 was confirmed with the recent Disney showcase event. More Disney content will arrive in the game throughout the entirety of the season.
Aside from the downtime, the new Season 5 will also introduce changes and new content to LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite Rocket Racing and Battle Royale game modes.
