Fortnite has slowly become a pop culture hub. Since its release, the game has collaborated with countless franchises, including Warner Bros. and Disney.
Disney has been a major collaborator for Fortnite, with their IPs becoming iconic in-game skins. Now, in a recent turn of events, leakers have confirmed that a full-fledged Disney game mode will soon be added to Fortnite.
Fortnite X Disney is Officially in Production
In a recent string of leaks from reputed Fortnite leaker Loolo World, the game files contained hints of an official upcoming game mode collaboration between Disney and Epic Games.
The leaks claim that an official game mode with a story and cinematics is in the works. The game mode is a major collaboration between Epic Games and Disney, with external developers working on it.
Epic and Disney's official collaboration was confirmed last year as Disney invested around 1.5 billion dollars in an equity stake in Fortnite. The investment also confirmed that a Disney hub would soon be added to Fortnite in the coming years of the game.
Aside from the leaks, there has been no additional news on what the game mode will look like. However, from previous collaborations like the recent Star Wars: Galactic Battle season, we can expect to see a major season with characters from famous Disney IPs.
The major collaboration with Disney, if proven successful, will open a massive door of opportunity for future collaborations with other companies like Warner Bros. and Universal.
More information on the Disney game mode will be available following the release of the next season this year. Fortnite's ongoing crossover with different franchises has become the game's lifeline since its release in 2017.
