Fortnite, Chapter 2 - Season 3 is business as usual!

A next-gen version of Fortnite will be ready on the launch day of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, Epic Games confirmed. The game will run at 4K 60 FPS on both PS5 and Series X while the Series S console will offer 1080p 60 FPS action.

Fortnite will be available to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S owners on the launch day of next-gen consoles with several neat improvements. Epic Games say that the Fortnite build for both next-gen consoles are not just some simple tweaks of last-gen builds but new native ones to use the full power of the new hardware.

On Xbox Series X, the game will run at 4K resolution and smooth 60 FPS. On top of this, Epic promise a more dynamic and interactive world with grass and trees responding to explosions, enhanced fluid simulations for smoke and liquid, and all-new Storm and cloud effects.

The cheaper and less powerful console, Xbox Series S will also offer 60 FPS mode but in 1080p resolution and with most of the visual enhancements available on Series X. The Split Screen will also support 60 FPS on both consoles and Epic.

Last but not least, loading performance has been improved significantly so you'll get into a match much faster.

As for Sony's new console, it will support 4K 60 FPS with improved visuals, just like Xbox Series X. PlayStation fans will be happy to hear that Fortnite will support Haptic feedback, which makes it feel "like you’re holding the Suppressed SMG or Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle".

Fortnite next-gen also supports PS5's Activities, starting with the ability to go straight into the Battle Royale Lobby with either Solo, Duos, or Squads selected.
