Fortnite - Football and Pelé’s Air Punch to have a field day in new event

Epic Games is introducing a bunch of new, football-themed outfits and a special emote to Fortnite. The Pelé Cup will be held on January 20. There will also be a new Creative island featured in the Creative Hub.

Fortnite is kicking 2021 off in style. The devs are bringing the world of football to the battlefields of Fortnite. 

Football fans can get the new Kickoff Set and Pelé’s Air Punch Emote on January 23, and possibly get them earlier by participating in the Pelé Cup on January 20.

Kickoff Sets

Starting January 23, you can choose from 10 different variants of male and female Outfits and represent your favourite club in-game. Each Outfit can be swapped to any of the 23 football clubs.

Pelé's Air Punch Emote

The Fortnite team partnered with Pelé to bring his iconic celebration into the game. The Air Punch emote will be available in the Item Shop on January 23.

The Pelé Cup

The Pelé Cup will turn the football fun into a football competition on January 20.

Players taking part in the Cup will have a chance to win the Air Punch Emote and a Kickoff Set for free. Top scorers will also have the opportunity to win a customized signed shirt. Read the official rules here .

Fortnite Creative's Football Tournament

There will be a special new football-inspired Creative island featured in the Creative Hub. 

Players can use their bodies, Pickaxes, power-ups, speed boosts and more to try to outscore their opponents and come out the winner in this 4v4 bracket-style game mode. Each game will have two rounds, with the winners advancing to face off against and the other team battling for 3rd and 4th in the other match.
