Epic Games have confirmed that Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 has been delayed to February 2020. The devs explained the delay by saying that they need more time to prepare for all the new holiday-themed updates in Season 1.
Fortnite Chapter 2 won't receive any significant seasonal changes until February 2020 it's been confirmed by the developer and publisher Epic Games. Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 has been extended which means that it will be the longest season yet.
Epic Games explained their decision in the latest blog post by saying that they need more time to wrap up the holiday-themed content, which is coming next month. "To prepare for all the new holiday-themed updates, we will be extending Chapter 2’s first season into early February," it's written in the announcement.
Epic say that the upcoming holiday content will include new game features, free rewards and live experience "that you won't want to miss." It looks like Epic will be introducing a pretty hefty update to compensate for the delay of Season 02.
At the moment, the devs are yet to reveal when exactly will Fortnite Holiday content arrive to the island, but previous Christmas updates usually dropped early in the first week of December.
Traditionally, Epic are always giving Fortnite developers two weeks off during the Holiday period, which explains the upcoming event and the delay. Initially, Chapter 2 Season 1 was scheduled to end sometime in December but the plans have changed and players will have to stick with the debut season a bit longer.
