E3 is nearing its end but there are many consequences it's leaving behind. For example, Quake Champions, For Honor and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 are all free for the taking at the moment, but each freebie has a few quirks, noted below.

Bethesda, Ubisoft and Activision have decided to give EA a celebratory smackdown to top of the allegorical beatings the trio served during E3 in conjuction with Microsoft. While the beatings came in the form of better and more interesting announcements, the smackdown took shape of better marketing via free to keep games.

Ubisoft are offering a free copy of For Honor for anyone who adds the game to their library until 18 June 2018. The catch here is twofold though. First, as you may have expected is the fact that it will be Starter Edition that Ubisoft are giving away, so prepare for grinding in-game currency if you jump in. The second catch is that you can't get it for free on Steam, only on uPlay. Both these issues are somewhat irrelevant since you get a AAA game for free, for good.

Bethesda have announced that Quake Champions is completely free and it will remain in players libraries until the end of times if they add it on Steam or launcher from 10 to 17 June 2018. The game has mixed reviews on Steam, but it's flourishing with an influx of players that started playing the game for free.

Activision have also offered Call of Duty Black Ops III for free, but only on PlayStation 4. This freebie will be a surprise addition to the June PS Plus lineup, so PS 4 players will need to subscribe in order to add it, if they haven't already. The lineup was already looking good though, with XCOM 2 being the flagship game of the month.

Meanwhile EA are probably still busy dealing with all the fallout of the controversy they caused with Battlefield V, and are apparently keen on into it.
