Electronic Arts have already rolled out FIFA 21 and Madden NFL 21 for the current generation of consoles, and now they revealed that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions are coming in December.
The exact date when FIFA 21 and Madden NFL 21 launch on next-gen consoles is December 4, 2020. As you'd expect, the two will arrive with all the bells and whistles from Sony and Microsoft's upcoming consoles, with EA highlighting the new haptic tech, courtesy of PlayStation 5's DualSense controller.
EA have already confirmed the dual entitlement program for both of the games, but in case you missed it here's the skinny.
"Players who buy, or who have already bought, Madden NFL 21 or FIFA 21 for Xbox One and/or PlayStation 4 from now to the launch of Madden NFL 22 and FIFA 22 will receive the Xbox Series X|S and/or PlayStation 5 version of the game they’ve purchased for free when the new games are released in December", they wrote.
Note that if you get a physical disc of Madden NFL 21 and/or FIFA 21, but are interested in upgrading to a discless console, you'll need to get in touch with EA via help.ea.com .
The rest of the upgrade should be pretty much seamless, with all your progress in Ultimate Team, The Yard and both Franchise modes in Madden NFL 21, as well as Ultimate Team and Volta Football in FIFA 21, carrying over to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
EA confirmed they'll be revealing more details on Madden NFL 21 and FIFA 21's next-gen versions in the coming days, although it's safe to say the two won't fundamentally differ from the current-gen version.
