Fallout 76 will take up a total of 96.6 GB of your disk space after day one patch is applied. The file size seems ridiculous, but it is also kind of funny since the base game is actually smaller than the day one patch. Even Rick can't help.
Fallout 76 is poised for release on next Wednesday, 14 November 2018 and Bethesda either have a really big surprise full of content for players or their compression techniques are as shoddy as their . This comes from the fact that the initial file size for Fallout 76 is 45 GB, while day one patch is actually bigger than that, standing at 54.6 GB.
It seems like Bethesda are keen on weeding out any players who have monthly download limits as they have also messed up during the beta, where a so players had to re-download all the files. At least Bethesda are like the war in Fallout series, they never change so their titles are full of issues inconveniencing the players.
Then again, the could point to Bethesda fixing many of the issues that the players pointed out during the beta, but it remains to be seen if it will manage to help with all of them. These have many members among their ranks, such as frame rate loss, missing textures, outdated textures, glitchy gameplay and many more, mostly attributed to the outdated Creation Engine.
Some of the confirmed fixes are an ability to toggle voice chat on or off and the stash size problems though, so Bethesda are indeed listening to player feedback.

Fallout 76 has been somewhat polarising so far, since many reviewers have found it underwhelming during the beta tests, while fans are standing firm in defending their beloved franchise. We will know more once Fallout 76 launches next week, and probably see whether the updates were worth the massive download. It doesn't look quite impressing like Red Dead Redemption 2 to justify the file size though.
