If you were hoping to try the goofy battle-royale platformer Fall Guys on Xbox or Nintendo Swtich this summer, you will be disappointed to hear that the ports have been delayed.
Mediatonic's colourful battle royale platformer Fall Guys, which took the gaming world by storm several months ago, is currently only available on PlayStation and PC platforms but the game is also coming to Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
The release date for Fall Guys on these two platforms has been set for summer 2021 but by the looks of it, Mediatonic need more time to do a proper port. Yes, Fall Guys release date for Xbox and Switch has been pushed from the initially announced summer 2021 release window.
Mediatonic confirmed this via their official blog, saying that they have come to a realisation that their announced release window was a bit optimistic.
"With so many new opportunities now in our hands, we've realised that our previously announced Summer 2021 Switch and Xbox release schedule is unfortunately just too soon for us to include all of the tasty new features we're working on," it's written in the announcement.
The developer did not share a new release date but say they will be working hard to launch the game on these platforms as quickly as possible. The delay will also give them more time to implement features like cross-play between all platforms.
"While we want to launch on these platforms as quickly as possible, we believe the Switch and Xbox releases are really going to be worth waiting for and we’re super grateful for your patience. This delay gives our team some time to add features like crossplay, so when we add new platforms, players will be able to stumble in harmony with their pals, regardless of their platform of choice."
