Epic games are apologizing to wrongly banned Fortnite players by reactivating their accounts and giving them 2,000 V-Bucks for free. This policy comes after some players were caught in the crossfire of Epic's recent cheater hunts.

Epic are finally bringing some justice to unjustly banned Fortnite players by giving them 2,000 V-Bucks. Players caught in Epic's big cheater purge have been receiving an apology message from the publisher.

"We incorrectly banned your account. We're sorry and will be granting V-Bucks to your account to compensate for the error," is captioned along with the virtual currency gift.

One player took to Reddit to reveal Epic's apology saying that he was banned four months ago when he allowed his friend from another country to log into his account. Some players who claim they were banned for the wrong reasons are yet to receive their apology gifts. There are of course also those who ask for instructions on how to get wrongly banned.

With the popularity of Fortnite hitting the ceiling, it's understandable Epic are trying to make the game as fair as possible, but it's not the first time players get punished for the crimes they didn't commit. Still, it's nice to see that Epic are ready to admit their mistakes and compensate players who didn't have access to their accounts for months.

Fortnite's virtual currency can be bought with real money and 2,000 V-Bucks costs $20 which is unlikely to satisfy players who were unable to play the game for etended periods of time, but it's better than nothing since apologies and gifts from game publishers are rare like unicorns. Players can spend the virtual cash on in-game accessories or Fortnite Battle Passes.

Epic will continue the war against cheaters as they recently bought anti-cheat company Kamu which has been working closely on Fortnite's anti-cheat systems. Kamu is the creator of Easy Anti-Cheat program, which is being used by more than 100 million players over the world.
