Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is fast approaching its end as Epic Games prepares for the next upcoming season. Like every other season in the past, players are turning to Epic Games co-founder Mark Rein to get a teaser of what to expect in Chapter 5 Season 3.
Before the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 update, Mark shared a teaser with the word "Wings" which later on introduced players to the Greek mythology theme and the Wings of Icarus mythic. Following the tradition, Mark has also shared a teaser for what players can expect to see in the upcoming Chapter 5 Season 3 update.
Epic Games' Co-founder confirms Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3's theme
The Vice President and co-founder of Epic Games, Mark Rein, gave fans an intriguing hint in a recent tweet, which somewhat cleared the air of confusion surrounding the theme of the upcoming Chapter 5 Season 3.
A Fortnite player asked Mark to describe the next season, and he said, "Nitro." This is not particularly shocking to learn, given what has been revealed from leaks so far, as there have been long-running rumours about a post-apocalyptic "Mad Max"-themed Fortnite season in 2024.
According to the previously leaked Fortnite 2024 roadmap, a Mad Max collaboration might be in the works. Moreover, Nitro is a word that is frequently used in the Mad Max franchise to refer to the acceleration boost that the cars receive, as many leakers have previously pointed out.
We can take Mark's word for all Fortnite teasers, as his previous ones always matched the theme of the season. So, we might be on the way to seeing a Mad Max collaboration in Fortnite as a part of the battle pass and map update. The Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 update will launch on May 24, 2024, worldwide on all platforms, including PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
