Elite: Dangerous updates tend to be well-received but Odyssey turned out to be flimsy enough to warrant postponing the release until it's been done properly.
Elite: Dangerous - Odyssey launched on May 19, 2021, but what the players expected was nowhere near what they got. That is not to say the expectations were unreal - one would merely assume the player base wanted a finished product in exchange for their money but Odyssey turned out to be in such a shoddy state that the fans disappointed enough to make the expansion have just 30 per cent positive reviews on Steam .
If you take a look at the reviews, you will pretty much see what it's all about - a product that feels like it's still in the testing phase and the fans can't really get to enjoy it due to bad optimisation, UI and more. As a result, Frontier announced they would now keep working on making the experience better for the players and since only PC has Odyssey so far, this is where the focus will be.
That said, the team will completely be invested in fixing Odyssey and the releases for the consoles will be postponed for now. There is currently no indicator of when the work on console versions might resume and when the release might happen.
