From Software games are known to have punishing status effects which can deal great damage to players hit and focus points. Elden Ring will be no different with several status effects (Player's state).
Here are all of them with short descriptions:
- Poison: If you are poisoned, you will take continuous damage.
- Red Rot: If you are in a state of Red Rot, you will take continuous damage.
- Hemorrhage: If you are in hemorrhaging, you will take a large amount of damage relative to your maximum XP.
- Frostbite: You take damage and become frostbitten for a while. While frostbitten, you will take increased damage from other sources.
- Sleep: If you are in a state of sleep, you become drowsy. Weaker characters will fall asleep immediately.
- Madness: If you become mad you will lose a great deal of HP and FP.
- Death: You die.
As always in Souls-likes, you will be able to counter these status effects with certain consumables and potions, though, there's no cure for that last one on the list, except for Bonfire-like checkpoints.
Since magic seems to play a major part in Elden Ring, we assume some spells with healing effects can also help with getting rid of these annoying gremlins.
Elden Ring is officially coming on February 25, 2021, to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
