EA is back with an official announcement of the latest installment in its popular hockey franchise, EA Sports NHL 25, due October 4 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. It comes accompanied by a brand-new trailer showing off some of what players can expect from this year's release.
Probably the most obvious addition in NHL 25 is the 'ICE-Q Intelligence System'. Developed to push further realism in the game, this system is centered on a logic-driven animation system for more realistic reactions to all situations arising within any play. This brings about much-needed realism in the puck drop - that's just like hockey can be.
Another of the key features is the on-ice Vision Control skating system, which delivers much more complete and responsive control to players over their skaters as they move around the rink and engage with the puck carrier.
Those looking to play against AI opponents should know that NHL 25 touts smarter artificial intelligence and strategic gameplay due to improved systems mirroring real-life hockey tactics.
The cover athletes for EA Sports NHL 25 feature several of the top National Hockey League players, including Quinn Hughes with the Vancouver Canucks and Jack Hughes and Luke Hughes with the New Jersey Devils.
The headline features also include a number of gameplay updates in NHL 25, like skill-based one-timers and a more streamlined single-path XP progression system shared across the game's Hockey Ultimate Team mode.
That is also applied to the new Grudge Match system, which follows the history of matchups between teams in all online and offline modes. This further deepens rivalry and intensity in future games with special X-Factors.
NHL 25 Deluxe Edition offers added value to players seeking that with their game. It features a ton of extras, including seven days of early access, 4,600 NHL Points, several HUT packs, officially licensed items available only for WOC mode, and more.
