Techland has announced a short delay for Dying Light: The Beast, shifting its release date to September 19, 2025. The studio says the extra time will be dedicated to polishing the game, fine-tuning mechanics, and making sure it delivers the best possible first impression.
The announcement comes on the heels of a wave of positive previews from more than 150 outlets (we missed out unforuntaly) and content creators, with early impressions calling the game a “nail-biting survival horror” and a “standout title of 2025.” Techland expressed gratitude to the community, highlighting the passionate feedback and enthusiasm from players.
“With just four additional weeks, we can address final details that make all the difference between good and great,” the studio said, outlining plans to refine UI clarity, enhance physics, tweak player animations, and adjust the balance of gameplay elements.
Fans won’t have to wait until launch for more content, as Techland plans regular updates, a playable demo at Gamescom (Hall 6), and new details on the game’s gore system coming next week. The studio also teased the return of “Bober the Beaver,” the recently unveiled mascot that Techland smartly put out to boost their marketing campaign.
Dying Light: The Beast is set to launch on September 19, 2025, and Techland promises this extra time will ensure the game is “the best Dying Light experience yet.”
