Dota 2's official site is back up and update 7.00 changes the game substantialy
The Dota 2 Boston Major Tournament was overshadowed by the announcement of the 7.00 update for the game. It broke the official web-site for the MOBA and now that it's back up we can have a look at the changes.
Update 7.00 brings with it a new hero, the Monkey King, changes how talent trees work, a minimalist HUD redesign, additional pre-game options for match planning, and many more tweeks and changes that will keep players busy for a good long while.
MOBA mechanics are notorious for power-creep and for the fact that small changes can wreck havoc with the meta-game. Time will tell, exactly what sort of impact this update will have on the game in a broader sense, once players have had a chance to pick it apart, and get to the bottom of things. With an update this large, it wont be an easy task, but what it definitely will be is fresh and fun.
