Bungie is in the process of adding some new rules and challenges to Destiny 2's PvE end-game. Nightfall Strike is getting a new set of scoring rules. The game's Prestige mode will get a a different raid activity with a "curated loadout mode" each week.

Destiny 2's  will kick off on 13 February 2018 and go on for an entire week. In addition to the Valentine's day themed event, some new updates are coming for Destiny 2's PvE end-game activities: the Nightfall Strike and Prestige Raids.

Nightfall Strike will get Strike scoring. The new set of scoring rules will reward players who engage and defeat their enemies instead of running past them. Strike scoring wil also aim to avoid over-emphasizing specific mechanics like precision kills that highlight certain areas of the sandbox. Players who take on some more demanding tasks, and finish them in a timely manner will also be rewarded.

On top of the new scoring rules, there will also be some Challenges to complete. These Challenges consist of things like Solar damage being increased, or being forced back to orbit if your team dies in a restricted respawn zone. To make things more fair, Strike Bosses will drop unique loot.

Each Nightfall strike will get new emblems. The new emblems will allow players to track stats like how many times they've completed the particular Strike and their highest score. Applying the challenges will add different score multipliers. This change is scheduled to come in Update 1.1.3 on 27 February, 2018.

In the future, all raids will have a normal mode active at all times, and each week one raid or Raid Lair will have a loadout mode. New weekly challenges will ask the players to use a specific gun archetype throughout the activity, but these changes won't go live until May.
