Dead by Daylight has performed relatively well on launch, selling somewhere around 2 million copies since mid-2016 on PC and was later released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as well.
The game was developed by Behaviour Interactive, whose previous blunder Eternal Crusade we already covered when it went free to play. They are also currently working on Star Citizen together with Cloud Imperium games.
Dead by Daylight currently holds a mild score of 71 per cent on Metacritic, with users rating it slightly below that with a 6.8 average. At the same time, Steam reviews for the game are mostly positive, and according to SteamCharts the multiplayer horror survival title has maintained a steady player base ever since launch, so you shouldn't be running into deserted servers for a decent while.
If you were considering giving the game a shot at some point, there is no time like the present. The free trial period is already in progress, and will generously last until the end of the coming weekend, so any interested players have ample time to download and give the game a good shake. Dead by Daylight and all of its DLC will be on sale at a 50 per cent discount during this time.
