Darksiders Warmastered Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch on 02 April 2019, and the trailer that is here to stay this time around. Players will get to play as War, a Horseman of the Apocalypse, who is looking prove his innocence.

War and innocence rarely fit in the same sentence together but the plot of Darksiders is rather odd, a bit like the Horsemen themselves. First up, one of them is a horsewoman and then their names aren't exactly in line either. Pestilence and Famine are not present, with Fury and Strife taking their place.

Then again, only War appears in the first Darksiders and he has been framed by someone who seeks to usurp the balance by triggering the apocalypse on Earth prematurely. Players will get to fight through hordes of demons and angels alike. That is all we can really say about Darksiders without actually spoiling the plot.

As you may have figured out from that description, as well as the terrible pun in the name, Darksiders Warmastered Edition is a Hack 'n' Slash game, in its remastered form. It is already available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Wii-U.

Despite this being a remaster, do not expect Devil May Cry levels of polish or depth here, as Darksiders games are often described as AA games as opposed to being AAA. Darksiders 3 is the best and most recent example, where many players had similar complaints on top of the game attempting to emulate Dark Souls combat.

Darksiders Warmastered Edition doesn't have such issues as it stays true to the regular hack 'n' slash formula, with a few puzzles thrown into the mix.

Anime fans will probably like this one, as War is voiced by Liam O'Brien who is widely known for his voice acting in numerous anime shows. League of Legends players may opt out of Darksiders Warmastered Edition, as War literally has the same voice as one of the main salt inducers in the MOBA - Yasuo.

Those who are looking to take out their anger at THQ Nordic for Metro Exodus' switch to Epic Store should think twice as THQ Nordic that published Darksiders games had no say in Koch Media's, and by extent - Deep Silver's, decision making.
