From Software's Dark Souls series have become increasingly popular in the second half of the last decade. The game's challenging gameplay has found millions of fans worldwide and it is safe to say that Dark Souls is today, one of the most respected titles, which gave us many new, souls-like clones such as Lords of the Fallen, The Surge, Nioh, Ashen and so on.
This also reflects on the total sales of the series. According to the developer, From Software, Dark Souls franchise has surpassed 27 million copies sold since the release of Dark Souls 1 in 2011. Of course, the number includes both digital and physical worldwide shipments.
The most popular game in the trilogy is the last instalment - Dark Souls 3 - which managed to claim 10 million alone.
As you may know, FromSoftware also released several DLCs for Dark Souls games and also remastered the first game back in 2018. Now, the Japanese team is working hard on their next game named Elden Ring, which has been created by the legendary Hidetaka Miyazaki and Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin.
Elden Ring does not have a release date at the moment but we expect to see more of the game in upcoming months.
