The update extends the playable map to include China, Japan, and Southeast Asia, each with its own government systems, traditions, and power struggles. In China, rulers will navigate the Dynastic Cycle, balancing stability and chaos while vying for the Mandate of Heaven. Players can rise through the ranks of the Celestial Government, earning merit through deeds or imperial examinations to secure favour within the Emperor’s court.
In Japan, players can shape the rise of the Shogunate, guiding noble houses through court politics, alliances, and ritual battles as they pursue power as Shogun or Kampaku regent. Southeast Asia introduces the Mandala Government, allowing rulers to form vast temple-centred empires and unify tributary states under divine rule.
Alongside the massive world expansion, All Under Heaven adds Japanese language support, new Silk Road trade systems, historical bookmarks, and rich cultural details inspired by medieval Asia.
“This expansion fulfills one of our great ambitions,” said Game Director Alexander Oltner. “You can’t tell the full story of the medieval world without East Asia.”
Crusader Kings III: All Under Heaven launches October 28 for $29.99 / £24.99 / €29.99, and is included in the Chapter IV Expansion Pass.
