A recently released update by Sandfall Interactive’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was announced as a celebratory gift in honor of the game surpassing 5 million copies sold by the beginning of October of 2025.
The RPG has been picking up steam since its release in the end of April of 2025, with a score average of 92 on OpenCritic as well as a 97% recommendation rate by the critics who have played the game. The release is one of the year’s most critically acclaimed RPGs.
A Free Update With New Content and Challenges
The new update for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is sure to please players with the entirely new playable area that it will add to the expansive world. Not only that, but there will be new enemies, exploration points, and more that will grant players the chance to find additional surprises within the game.
Boss battles will also become more difficult with the introduction of the update, as it will come with new bosses for players to defeat. It has yet to be confirmed whether the bosses will be localized within the new area or if they can be found elsewhere in existing areas, but there is no doubt that endgame players will have more monsters to face.
New Costumes for All and New Language Localization
Additional customization options will be implemented with new costumes being available for each member of the Expedition. It will be a nice change of pace to switch between the different clothing styles in the game as fans travel around.
Language options will also be added with the update, including Czech, Ukrainian, Latin American Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian.
The update is also a particularly interesting one for those not among the aforementioned language speakers, as the localization will increase the total supported languages to 19.
