"Starting on Day One, you’ll have new maps to play, more game modes in both Core and Hardcore playlists, new weapons and Create-a-Class content, more Perks, more Scorestreaks, a new Seasonal Prestige system, new Challenges, and other new features to enjoy", the dev wrote.
If you've been part of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's beta, the following list is all you need to know, as it lists all the new features added since the beta:
- Prestige progression system
- Challenges for Campaign, Multiplayer & Zombies
- Unlockable Weapon Camos
- New player & weapon customization
- Combat Record
- Finishing Moves
- Weapon Inspect
- Music Player
- Theater mode
- MP bots + more
As far as additional modes go, the following have been added since the game's beta:
- Search & Destroy
- Free-For-All
- Hardcore Team Deathmatch
- Hardcore Domination
- Hardcore Kill Confirmed
- Hardcore Search & Destroy
- Hardcore Free-For-All
When it comes to guns, Treyarch did quite a bit of balancing, reducing SMG effectiveness at range, tuning AR performance closer to Krig 6 and XM4 Beta performance, increasing LMG damage output, etc.
They also added the following guns:
- FFAR 1 assault rifle
- Bullfrog SMG
- M60 LMG
- DMR 14 tactical rifle
- M79 special launcher
- + more
Now, we're not sure whether the "more" part means Treyarch have some surprises, or they're referring to the weapons they will add once Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches, but we'll know soon enough.
