Borderlands 3 is still fresh off the release but Gearbox Software have announced a new Halloween event that will feature new enemies, skins, one new map and an undead return of a previously encountered enemy.
Gearbox Software are still working on improving the user experience that was plagued by various performance and quality of life issues at launch but that apparently did not divert the manpower from the teams that are introducing new content. Therefore, Bloody Harvest has been announced, due for release sometime in October 2019.
It is a Halloween-themed event that's all about zombies, skeletons and Jack-o'-Lanterns, in Borderlands fashion. Players will start encountering Haunted enemies as soon as they leave Pandora for the first time. Killing these will pop an unwelcome surprise that manifests itself as an apparition and coming in contact with that post-mortal creature will cause Terror debuff that gives players tunnel vision and lowered weapon handling abilities.
While not explicitly confirmed, it's possible these apparitions will be the source of a new currency named Hecktoplasm that will be useable in Sanctuary III, at a new raptor-like vendor, called Maurice, presumably for the cosmetics that will be available during the event.
Another benefit of killing Haunted enemies is gaining acces to the new Bloody Harvest map where players will encounter Rakk-O'-Lanterns and a reanimated version of Captain Traunt, named Captain Haunt. This Maliwan-serving bonehead will live up to the descriptor as his skull is all that's left of the head in the reanimated version.
When it comes to the event-specific skins, they seem to be retextured base looks, rather than full remodels. It remains to be seen whether people will actually like the black-pink-green colour scheme of the rewards but you can take a quick look on the screenshot above or check the to see if there is something that interests you.
