Battletech showcases mele features, nuts and bolts everywhere
Harebrained Schemes showcased some mele robot-on-robot carnage this week, and it looks explosive. There are few things more satisfying, that watching 100 ton murder machines beating the living hell out of each other, in close quarters.
The also lists some of the progress made on the game since the last update. A lot of focus seems to be on map morphability, to allow for greater variety and replay value.

Mele is described as a high risk and reward affair within the game. It takes a lot of skill and bravado, to run into a battlemech's personal space and land a punch, while under fire, and the devs say the rewards for such a feat should be appropriately grand.
Battletech is due for a Kickstarter Backer beta in early 2017, and is set to release a short time after that.
