In a recent post by Battlefield's official X account, it was announced the game's upcoming beta will feature both class-locked and open weapons systems through official game mode playlists.

For anyone new to the Battlefield series, the class-locked system will lock certain weapons to certain classes. On the other hand, the open weapons systems will allow players to choose any weapon regardless of which class they choose. Here's how the class-locked system will work in Battlefield 6:

Assault Rifles are locked to Assault Class
SMGs are locked to Engineer Class
LMGs are locked to Support Class
Snipers are locked to Recon Class
DMRs, Shotguns, and Carbines are available to all classes
