One of the most iconic voices in entertainment media is gone, leaving a treasure trove of fantastic work behind him.
All the way back in 2009, Rocksteady released a title that would kickstart the single best superhero series of games, Batman: Arkham Asylum .
A video game does not achieve such status easily and it requires the best of the best and Kevin Conroy was the best voice of Batman.
We got captivated by the definitive voice of the Caped Crusader from the opening minutes but a new game will never be able to do repeat this as Mr Conroy is no longer with us.
He passed away on November 10, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer.
The news was not relayed to the public until the next day, November 11, when Diane Pershing, who voiced Poison Ivy in Batman: The Animated Series, posted about the sad event on her Facebook page.
Batman: TAS was the breakout role for Conroy, the start to the path of legend where not one but two definitive voices for iconic characters were determined.
The other one, of course, was Mark Hamill in the role of the Joker.
"Kevin was perfection. He was one of my favorite people on the planet, and I loved him like a brother. He truly cared for the people around him – his decency shone through everything he did. Every time I saw him or spoke with him, my spirits were elevated." ~Mark Hamill
Conroy left the world with 30 years of Batman legacy, firmly leaving his mark across TV shows, video games and ultimately - the fans hearts.
