According to the official Assassin's Creed: Valhalla Season Pass description over at Uplay Germany store, the game's first DLC will bring a new story mission, where players will get to "discover the cruel truth behind the Beowulf legend".
Just like previous games in the Assassin's Creed series, the upcoming Valhalla will also feature a Season Pass and probably several major story DLCs. Ubisoft are yet to reveal the details about these DLCs though, but we know that the expansions will bring new content, new regions and gear along with new quests and more but the theme of these DLC are unknown.
However, thanks to the official description at the Uplay store, we may have a clue about the first DLC story, which will apparently revolve around the legend of Beowulf.
"New Story Mission. The Legend of Beowulf. Discover the cruel truth behind the legend," it is written under The Season Pass section over at Assassin's Creed: Valhalla Ultimate Edition store page as you can see in the screenshot below.
Over at the English page, the part about the Beowulf legend cannot be found. Instead, the description only states that players will get to enjoy "an immersive Story Mission" which will be available at launch.
As you may know, the Beowulf story is set in Scandinavia during the 6th century. Its hero Beowulf, comes to the aid of the king Hrothgar, whose mead hall has been under constant attacks by a monster known only as Grendel.
In 2007, Ubisoft released Beowulf: The Game, a hack and slash title for PS4, Xbox 360 and PC, based upon the 2007 film Beowulf.
