Ubisoft are giving away a game for free and it's a refreshing take on the Assassin's Creed series to boot.

Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China is free to keep if you claim the game on PC until February 16, 2021. All you need is an account that was tied to Ubisoft Connect, previously uPlay, go the freebie link click on the button beneath "Select Your Gaming Platform". The deadline will be 5:00 local time, so there is no need to convert any time zones.

As you may have guessed, this has to do with the Lunar New Year which is currently having festivities pretty much everywhere in the gaming world, be it themed events or video game giveaways like this one.

The story of AC Chronicles: China places you in the role of Shao Jun, a member of the Chinese brotherhood which has been all but wiped out. She seems to be the last survivor and has recently returned from a meeting with Ezio Auditore.

Players will get to play the usual sneaky assassination game but this time around it will be in 2.5D. This title makes for one rather interesting platformer action hybrid that incorporates a lot of stealth.

There are no microtransactions involved and it would really be a waste if you didn't give Chronicles a go at no charge.
