One of the most beloved entries in Assassin's Creed franchise is going to be free to keep on 14 April 2020, possibly as another enticement to stay at home during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Assassin's Creed 2 is the game where Ezio Auditore's story began and also one of the most popular entries in the entire franchise. If you haven't tried it before or are feeling nostalgic, the game will be free to keep on Tuesday, 14 April 2020 on uPlay.
The most likely reason for the giveaway is the ongoing fight against the Covid-19 pandemic where many industry giants already offered their games for free in order to persuade people to stay at home.
This information comes from the German website MyDealz.de which tracks discounts and freebies for many different goods, from sneakers to video games. However, there is no clarification on how long the offer will last so it might be a single day offer or something that goes on for a week.
Since the freebie will be available only on uPlay, it also means the deal is for the PC platform. Still, you shouldn't really worry about its ability to run the game since Assassin's Creed 2 was released in 2009, literally over a decade ago.
You will find that dual-core processors are in the recommended requirements section, along with 1.5 GB RAM in case you are using Windows XP. For the latter versions of Microsoft's OS, you will need a grand total of 2GB RAM. In other words, even your low-end laptop that is almost exclusively used for scrolling through Imgur will be more than enough to run AC2 with high settings.
Ubisoft's store is only showing the Deluxe Edition of the game, which probably means this is the one we will be getting for free.
