Age of Empires IV won't arrive anytime soon

Reliable industry insider Jeff Grubb claims that Microsoft will be talking about Age of Empires 4 in some way on April 10, 2021. "f you are an Age of Empires fan I would get excited," Grubb teased fans.

Age of Empires IV is certainly one of the most anticipated strategy games in the last couple of years. This iconic franchise gave us some of the best real-time strategy games of all time in Age of Empires and Age of Empires 2 so it's not really surprising that fans are eager to see and hear more about the upcoming game.

And according to industry insider Jeff Grubb, Microsoft will host a special Age of Empires event on April 10, 2021, where they plan to talk about and potentially reveal gameplay of Age of Empires IV. Here's what Grubb said about this event in his Summer Game Mess video.

"Let's talk about April 10th. This is probably the one Microsoft thing that’s going to happen between now and E3. They will be talking about Age of Empires in some way on that day. So, look out for that. That game is probably a sequel, we know Age of Empires 4 is coming. Chances are if they are going to have a solo event that they are probably be talking about that. If you are an Age of Empires fan I would get excited. I'd say: hey, let's check in on that. They should be announcing that pretty soon. I'm putting it on the list, I'm pretty confident about it."

As always with rumours and unconfirmed reports, we suggest you take this one with a dose of scepticism but it's also worth mentioning that Jeff Grubb is a solid source that is usually right with his predictions unless he's talking about Elden Ring. (Sorry, Jeff).
