Activision will be releasing another Call of Duty game in 2022, to no one's surprise.
A brand new Call of Duty game is coming in 2022 and by the looks of it, it will be a sequel to 2019's Call of Duty Modern Warfare by Infinity Ward. "A new generation of Call of Duty is coming soon. Stay frosty," Infinity Ward tweeted.
Activision confirmed on their earnings call that they will indeed publish another Call of Duty game this year but we will have to wait for a couple of more months for the official reveal of the title. Rumours suggest that the game is Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, focusing on the Columbian drug cartel war . Apparently, the game will bring back iconic Call of Duty characters like Soap, Ghost, Captain Price and others.
It's also been reported that Activision will be revealing and launching the next Call of Duty game sooner than expected due to poor Call of Duty Vanguard sales, which is the worst-selling Call of Duty in the last fourteen years.
Allegedly, the rumoured Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 could launch in October 2022. Keep in mind that these are just rumours at this point since nothing has been officially confirmed by Activision.
Call of Duty 2022 will be the twentieth Call of Duty game in the long and rich history of the shooter franchise. What started as a World War 2 shooter, ended up having several subseries which took the franchise to space, the cold war and modern-day warfare.
