TW: Rome 2 late to 'women in games' scuffle

Just when I thought I was out - they pull me back in. Creative Assembly's Total War: Rome 2 is being review-bombed on Steam by fans who are voicing their discontent over what they claim is an unreasonable favouritism of female generals.

SEPTEMBER 25

Total War: Warhammer Norscas confirmed

Creative Assembly have announced the arrival of the Norsca Race Pack. It is the latest DLC for Total War: Warhammer II. The Norsca Race Pack introduces two new factions, new quests and general gameplay adjustments common to the franchise.

SEPTEMBER 24

Total War: Warhammer II launch event

Total War: Warhammer II launches on 28 September 2017. The launch party will be held one day earlier at the Mixer NYC Studio. The entire thing will be broadcast online for those not fortunate enough to be able to make it there themselves.

AUGUST 5

Reboot Develop 2017 in Dubrovnik kicks off on 20 April 2017

This year's Reboot Develop has a mighty speaker line-up and tickets for the Dubrovnik conference are almost sold out. If you want to hear what Tim Cain, Suda51 and Cliff Bleszinski have to say you will have to hurry or settle for streams.

Total War: Three Kingdoms delayed to 2019

Creative Assembly's much requested exploration of Chinese history in their upcoming Total War: Three Kingdoms will unfortunately have to wait until spring of 2019. The team want to make sure the events of the period are depicted properly.

Total War: Arena - free week of testing live

Creative Assembly is having an open week of testing for their free to play Total War: Arena. The event will conclude on 04 December 2017. Creative Assembly partnered up with Wargaming to merge Total War gameplay with a free to play model.

Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia launches

Creative Assembly and Sega have rolled out the latest instalment in the Total War franchise dubbed the Thrones of Britannia. Of course, it's still good old Total War in new clothing, which in this case means 878AD and the British Isles.

Total War: Arena's open beta now live, all progress will carry over to the released game

Creative Assembly's Total War: Arena is having an open beta. The beta test brings a new faction - Carthage. The game doesn't have a set release date. All progress from the beta will carry over into the full release.

Total War: Rome 2 getting a Desert Kingdoms expansion and a free update in March

Creative Assembly's Total War: Rome 2 is getting a new expansion in March, along with a free update that'll add two new leaders. The Kingdoms of Kush, Saba, Nabatea, and Masaesyli will be part of the updated roster.

FEBRUARY 21

Total War: Warhammer 2 Rise of the Tomb Kings

Total War: Warhammer 2 just got a new campaign pack, titled Rise of the Tomb Kings. The pack brings a new campaign and race-specific gameplay mechanics to the table. Skaven Legendary Lord Tretch Craventail is also live as a free piece of DLC.

Total War: Arena closed beta live now

Total War: Arena is ready to start its closed beta testing. New commander - Boudica - brings a new Barbarian Army Tech Tree. All players who took part in the Alpha have been automatically included into CBT.

Total War: Warhammer II

Creative Assembly just revealed the minimum, recommended, and 60fps+ specs for their upcoming Total War: Warhammer II. A number of new graphical features has also been announced.

Total War: Warhammer - Norsca race pack

Total War: Warhammer's Norsca race pack is now live. The pack will be free to players who pre-order Total War: Warhammer II through a Sega approved retailer before release, or buy it in the first week on sale. As a part of the 30th anniversary celebration, Creative Assembly is giving away 30  Regiments of Renown.

Total War Saga - spinoff series

Creative Assembly just announced a Total War Saga. This will be a spinoff series with games that focus on specific pivotal moments in history. The first game will be "another spiritual follow-up to Total War: ROME II".

Black Sea Games teases first post-CryTek project

After going independent following last year's Cry Tek shrinkage Bulgarian studio Black Sea Games is now sharing the first hints of its current project. Looks like a medieval strategy title.

Total War: Warhammer 2

Total War: Warhammer 2 just got a new trailer detailing the game's map. The trailer takes us on a tour of the land explaining the game's premise and it's races. Total War: Warhammer 2 is available for pre-order right now.

Total War: Warhammer II by Creative Assembly has just been announced with a release date still unknown. It will bring the players back into the fantasy world with four continents and four playable races. the game will have both single and multiplayer campaigns available for all races.

Halo Wars 2 review round-up

Halo Wars 2 is due to release on 21 February. Players that preordered it are already playing today. Reviews and user coments are slowly trickling in and there seems to be some consensus as to the quality of everything on display.

Having had the guts to take their game offline for a time, Creative Assembly have now released the first dev diary for Total War: Arena which gives more details about where the title is heading.
