Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, the latest action strategy from Capcom, is a game of cleaning many corrupted bases and encountering as many bosses, who can be very challenging at times.
The first boss you'll encounter in this game can be found after you clean the first corrupted area, and his name is Gakinyudo. This boss is not so hard to beat but can pose problems, provided he is the first boss in the game and you probably haven't gotten accustomed to the controls and do not know how the fighting mechanics actually function.
If you're finding this boss fight too difficult and don't know how to approach it properly, we've prepared a guide that will show you how to beat this monstrosity without too much of a fuss.
How to beat Gakinyudo
For this fight, you'll have four villagers at your disposal, and you'll be able to give them either the role of woodcutters or archers because only those two roles will be unlocked by now. Our advice is to set two villagers to be archers and two to be woodcutters.
If you're used to playing other action RPGs, you must know that this game is quite different, mostly because of the camera controls and the lack of the lock-on system, so be ready to adapt.
As soon as the fight starts, go to the right to avoid the boss's dirt-kick attack because this one is devastating and will deplete half of your health. All the time during the battle, try to stay behind his back, and once he starts his combo, simply dodge the attacks and land the Oka Dance attack, but the one with three light and one heavy attack—this one deals the most damage.
Once the boss summons mobs, they will go to attack Yoshiro. When that happens, put them in the defensive position around her and keep attacking the boss; they will be enough to keep her alive.
Use Suzaku's Flame at least once during the fight; it will drain the boss's resistance gauge and open him for the devastating attacks. When that happens, call all your villagers to attack him simultaneously, and before you know it, he will become a thing of the past.
