Hades 2: Keepsakes explained

Keepsakes are special buffs you receive from your friends and can help you a great deal on your encounters in Hades 2. In this guide, we will explain how they function.

Hades 2, the latest rogue-like action RPG from Supergiant Games, is the game of many mechanics, and if you're not careful, some of them can fly under your radar, depriving you of very important buffs or functions that will help you a ton throughout your journey in ancient Greek mythology world.

One of those very important mechanics is keepsakes, a very special buffs gifted to you by your friends. Those keepsakes can be very useful, especially if you find yourself struggling with some tough enemies where extra help is always welcome.

If you don't know how to activate keepsakes and which ones to choose, we have a guide for you with all the answers related to this topic. So, without further ado, let's begin.

What are keepsakes and how to use them in Hades 2?

Keepsakes will become available after several encounters, when the story unravels a bit, and to activate them, you must earn them first. The first thing you want to do is look for nectar; this is material you can find in the locations marked with a small vial, and once you kill the enemies in such locations, you'll be awarded with one piece of nectar.

With nectar in your possession, once you return to the crossroads or meet one of your friends, gods, or godesses within the encounters, the option "gift" will appear next to them. Press R2/RT to choose this option and give them nectar as a gift. As a response to your kindness, they will gift you their keepsake back.

Each character has a different keepsake with different buffs, so make sure to give each character nectar to receive their respective keepsakes. Once you own a couple of keepsakes, make your way to the second room inside the crossroads, where Schelemeus resides; it is the room with a training ground.

Directly left from the armoury, you'll notice a cage. If you interact with it, you'll see all your keepsakes in the form of rings. Read the description of each one and choose the one that suits your needs the best. For example. If you choose to gift nectar to Schelemeus, he will give you his keepsake called Luckier Tooth with a very useful buff that will give you extra life once you die during an encounter.

Of course, which one will be your choice is entirely up to you, but make sure not to miss this option out because you'll lose a lot; those keepsakes can be a real game-changer during your encounters.
