The first thing you need to do is purchase a property from five available ones from Maze Bank Foreclosures. Like most businesses in GTA Online, you should buy the ones that are closest to the city. Why? Because it eliminates unnecessarily long routes and requires less time to complete the objectives.
Upgrading the Auto Shop
The main upgrades you should focus on getting are:
- Staff: $385,000 each and max 2 staff.
- Car Lift: $650,000
Our Recommendation:
We recommend buying the Auto Shop at La Mesa for $1,920,000. Even though it is the most expensive option, the lowest-priced one is $1,670,000, which is roughly $250,000 less. We suggest you save up and buy the La Mesa one.
In terms of upgrades, we recommend getting the Staff upgrade x 2 and Car lift as it will increase your income and efficiency.
The Auto Shop Business Types
Repair Business
This is a legitimate business that involves repairing and modifying customer's cars according to their specifications and then delivering the modded car back to the customer. The player can choose to do it themselves or have staff deliver it on their behalf but receive lower rewards.
Contracts
This is the illegal part of the business. Contracts involve two prep missions like heists and the finale as the 3rd step.

There are quite a few useful perks of owning an Auto Shop. For instance:
- Classic and Crew Paint is free.
- Crew Emblems are free.
- Modifications have a 5% discount.
- All modifications are unlocked in your own Auto Shop
